Rolando Jorge Pires da Fonseca, better known by the name Ronaldo is a Portuguese footballer who was born in São Vicente, Cape Verde on August 31, 1985 and played in central defense position with the Portugal national team and clubs which he joined.
Ronaldo's football career started with Campomaiorense SC at junior level and subsequently complete the formation along with CF Os Belenenses Lisbon at the age of 18. In his debut in first division on 28 August 2004, he played for 90 minutes and scored the winning goal against CS Maritimo. Ronaldo completed the 30 games in 2007-2008 season and helped the club reach the rank of eight.
On 15 April 2008, Ronaldo joined FC Porto and agree contracted for four years. In his first season he played in 28 games and helped the club win the domestic league and Cup. In the 2010-2011 season, Ronaldo opened the scoring against Sevilla and won the match for the UEFA Europa League season.
Ronaldo moved to Portugal sat age 14 years and became a citizen naturalist in 2006. From then on he played for the national team of Portugal U-21 European Championship in 2007. Subsequently he was called into the Portugal squad when the friendly match against Finland but not playable. Ronaldo was also chosen for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa but he always was on the bench and not playing.
