Dirk Kuijt or known by the name of Dirk Kuyt is a Dutch professional footballer who played in the position of winger or striker and was born in Katwijk aan Zee, Netherlands on July 22, 1980. Kuyt signed a professional contract with FC Ultrecht in the summer when he was 18 and soon became a core player. He helped FC Ultrecht reach Dutch Cup final against Feyenoord. Although as an underdog club, Ultrecht win the match and scored one goal Kuyt helps. At the end of the season, Kuyt move to the club Feyenoord with a value of € 1 million.
Kuyt quickly became a fan favorite because of continued success with 20 goals scored in his first season. First match 2004-2005 season, he scored a hat-trick against De Graafschap and when it went on to score three victories as against Den Haag. At the end of the Eredivisie, Kuyt became the top scorer with 29 goals. In 2005, Kuyt captain Feyenoord handed the position because he was moving to another club though has scored 25 goals in all competitions. In 2006, he reportedly played for Liverpool and Newcastle, although he admitted happy to play for Feyenoord.
Kuyt finally decided to join the Premier League with Liverpool on August 18, and he played only 5 games over seven seasons from 1999 to 2006 and made 233 appearances, then in March 2001 and April 2006 he played 179 consecutive games. He debuted on August 26, 2006 when Liverpool against West Ham and in the Champions League against PSV. Kuyt became the core players the club and proved with the first goal against Newcastle when printed on 20 September 2006 at Anfield and continues as against Tottenham. Furthermore, on October 5, 2008 he scored a goal against Manchester City last time on October 18, 2008 win when against Wigan and get a reputation of 'Big Game Player'. This season he suffered an injury but still played in the striker position even scored against Stroke and Burnley. Kuyt played in a competitive match with Liverpool's 200th as against Hull City and be a bleak season for Liverpool in the season.
In season 2010-2011, Kuyt appeared in the opening match against Arsenal at Anfield and started for the UEFA Europa League qualification against Trabzonspor. Kuyt international began his career with the Dutch national team when coach van Basten called him for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualification. In 2006 FIFA World Cup he became a substitute against Serbia Montenegro. Kuyt played again on lap 16 when he played against Portugal but is less successful.
Kuyt was chosen to defend the Netherlands in the UEFA Euro 2008 and debuted as against Italy on June 9, 2008 with the help 2 goals. Furthermore, on June 13, 2008, he also played when the Dutch against France and make the opening score.
In 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification, Kuyt scored 3 goals and make the score against England in the opener when a friendly match.
