Sergio Busquets Burgos is a footballer who was born in Sabadell, Spain on July 16, 1988. Busquets is known to play in the position of defensive midfielder.
Busquets played with Barcelona in July 2008 and was elected to the Spanish national team squad less than a year after making his professional debut.
Busquets was born in Sabadell, Barcelona, Catalonia, the 2005-2006 season with Barcelona to join the junior and scored seven goals in 26 games for the Juvenil A team next season. Two years later, Busquets was promoted to the B team by coach Josep Guardiola and helping them achieve promotion in third place, scoring one goal in 32 appearances. In the same season, Busquets made his first team debut at the Catalonia Cup match as a substitute.
On September 13, 2008, Busquets to play full time against Racing de Santander. On October 22, 2008, Busquets scored their second goal in the second minute against FC Basel at St. Jakob-Park in the UEFA Champions League. On December 22, 2008, Busquets signed a contract extension until 2013 with a value of € 80 million.
