Joan Capdevila
Joan Capdevila Méndez i is a Spanish footballer who was born in Tàrrega, Spain on February 3, 1978 and he played at left back position. However, he can also play on the winger's position and sometimes contributed to the scoring.
Capdevila is a young player and RCD Espanyol in the Catalan made his debut with the 1988-1999 season against Athletic Bilbao, then the next season he played with Atletico Madrid.
In the summer of 2000, Capdevila signed a contract with Deportivo La Coruna and become a major player as a left back at the club.
On September 16, 2006, he scored two times to help the club beat Villarreal CF Depor at Riazor stadium.
In the 2007-2008 season, Capdevila joined Villarreal with the three-year contract and played in every game and helped the club directly reach the UEFA Champions League qualification.
In the 2009-2010 season, he only lost one league game and scoring five goals in his position as a defender. However Villarreal ranked only seventh on the European level. On December 6, 2009, he scored a goal for the club when the fight against Getafe CF.
Spanish national team, Capdevila initially made his debut on October 16, 2002 against Paraguay. He scored his first international goal in the UEFA Euro 2008 qualification when Spain won against Sweden on 17 November 2007. Previously, Capdevila also included in the squad for the Spanish national team in the final of UEFA Euro 2004 but is always on the bench.
On February 6, 2008 in Malaga, Capdevila scored the winner as Spain against France in a friendly match and then he called in the Spanish squad for the UEFA Euro 2008 and he appeared in every game.
Capdevila prove that he is the main choice of the team along with Ramos at right back position and Puyol and Marchena in the position of the central defender during the fourth game only conceded two goals.
During the first game of 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup on June 14, 2009, Capdevila help third goal Torres and Fabregas when the second goal against New Zealand.
On May 20, 2010, Capdevila played in every game and contributed with one goal against Armenia. Capdevila selected by coach del Bosque Visente Spanish national team squad for 2010 FIFA World Cup and he played every game in the tournament.
