Hans-Jörg Butt is a German footballer who was born in Oldenburg, West Germany on May 28, 1974, and he plays in the goalkeeper position.
During his career in football, Butt has played in the club Hamburger SV, Bayern Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. Butt joined the Munich when he reaches 34 years. He once scored from the penalty when against Juventus.
Butt started his professional career with VfB Oldenburg club who then promoted to division two. Then in 1997, Butt joined Hamburger SV and scored seven goals in the years 1998 to 1999 for teams who all made from the penalty spot.
In 2001, Butt moved to defend Bayern Leverkusen in 2004 who became a starter who appeared in every game.
In 2002, Butt played with Leverkusen in the Champions League qualifier against Juventus in the final and then defeated by Real Madrid.
On April 17, 2004, Butt scored from the penalty spot when Leverkusen play against Shalke 04. In the 2006-2007 season, Butt lost their place as a player and cancel the contract extension with Leverkusen, initially until the year 2009. Butt has signed a contract with the club SL Benfica in July 2007. Debut with Benfica when the tournament Summer of Torneio de Guadiana, held between Sporting Clube de Portugal's Benfica and Real Betis. Butt Calves save goals from players and help Benfica win.
On June 4, 2008, Butt has signed a contract with Bayern Munich for two years. He initially made his debut with the club in the UEFA Champions League while Sporting Clube de Portugal's fight on March 10, 2009. On December 8, 2009, Butt scored the first goal for the club against Juventus in the Champions League.
On February 16, 2009, Butt has signed a contract extension with Munich until 2011. Butt has a goal to help Munich won the treble in the Champions League but was defeated by Inter Milan Munich.
Together with the German national team, Butt was the third choice goalkeeper Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehman in the UEFA Euro 2000 and FIFA 2002 World Cup. On May 6, 2010, Butt joint Neuer and Wiese was elected in the German national team squad at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but the new Butt perform its international appearance on July 10, 2010 when Germany won the play-off against Uruguay and was ranked third.
