Marcell Jansen is a German citizen and a footballer who played in the position of left winger and left back. He was born on 4 November 1985 in Mönchengladbach, West Germany.
Jansen professionalnya career started when he joined from Borussia Mönchengladbach SV Lürrip but in September 2003 against Hannover 96 which is supposed to debut Jansen initially but it was not played. In that season, Jansen played in the German national team U-19. Then in the 2004-2005 season, Jansen played with the senior club and get into position to play in the German national team U-23. Previously, Jansen is the core players in the German national team U-21. Jansen truly become core players after Ziege injury and absences strengthen the club.
During playing in Mönchengladbach, Jansen was interested by Barcelona, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Hamburg during the summer of 2006. Jansen then decided to move to Bayern Munich in July 2007 with a transfer fee of about € 10 million.
In the month of August 2008, Hamburg announced Jansen transfers from Munich with a value of € 8 million and along with Hamburg, he played in the position of left winger.
Jansen playing with the German national team in FIFA World Cup in 2006 after he played well with the club and the U-21 level. Jansen played a few matches in the UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying and won the victory with Germany as against San Marino.
