Mikel John Obi is a Nigerian footballer who played in the midfielder position. Mikel started the Nigerian national team debut on August 17, 2005 as a substitute in the second half when winning in a friendly match against Libya. Mikel playing together again in the Nigerian national team in 2006 African Cup of Nations. At first the party against Ghana, Mikel only on the bench reserved. But Mikel playing on the party against Zimbabwe and two assists while leading to a Christian Obodo yielding a goal. When injured, Mkel refused to play for the national team of Nigeria U23 level but Mikel finally called in the squad for the African Cup of Nations. During the year 2008 African Nations Cup in Ghana, Mikel scored one goal against Ghana are helping pass on the quarter-finals. Mikel called on Olympic qualification for the U23 level on March 26, 2008 to victory. On June 5, 2010, Mikel decided to resign caps for Nigeria at the World Cup because of injury.
