Michael Ballack is a footballer who was born on September 26, 1976 in Görlitz, East Germany and he played in the midfielder position.
Balllack now playing for the club Bayern Leverkusen and played in the German national team, although at the 2010 FIFA World Cup because his position was replaced by Lahm injured. The legendary footballer Pele has been chosen as one of FIFA's 100 Greatest Living Players, and as the UEFA club midfielder of the Year in 2002. Ballack has won the Germany Footballer of the Year award in 2002, 2003 and 2005. Ballack began his football career as a young player in the local team and made his debut professional Chemnitz in 1995. Although degraded in the first season but next season Ballack awarded a contract from Kaiserslautern in 2007. Ballack won the Bundesliga in his first season with the club.
In 1999, Ballack moved to Bayern Leverkusen with a transfer value of € 4,100,000. In the 2002 season, Bayern won the runner-up in the Bundesliga, German Cup and Champions League but lost to Brazil in the FIFA 2002 World Cup final. Ballack joined Bayern Munich with a transfer value of € 12,900,000 and is the pride because Munich won the Bundesliga and German Cup in 2003, 2005 and 2006. Ballack has been a productive goalscorer from midfield, scoring 58 goals for Bayern in 2002 and 2006. He joined Premier League club Chelsea in mid 2006 and England won the first prize, the FA Cup and League Cup in his first season with Chelsea.
In 2007, Ballack injured and many absences in the match but in the following season he helped Chelsea to reach Champions League final.
International career with the German national team when he played in the European Championship in 2000, 2004, 2008, FIFA World Cup 2002 and 2006. Jurgen Klinsmann chose him to captain the team in the UEFA Euro 2004 and at the same tournament he scored consecutive victories in the quarter-finals and semi finals of the FIFA World Cup in 2002 and 2006, also in the final of UEFA Euro 2008.
