John Michael Nchekwube Obinna is a Nigerian footballer who was born in Jos, Nigeria on 22 April 1987 and played in the midfielder position. Obinna is a former civil servant like his father who is an ethnic Igbo. Obi first time playing football in 2003 when he was only 15 years old and won the under-17 world championships in Finland. In the year 2005 at the FIFA World Youth Championship, Nigeria defeated all opponents and reached the final but lost to Argentina.
