Maximiliano Rubén 'Maxi' Rodríguez or known by the name Maxi Rodriguez is an Argentine footballer who was born on January 2, 1981 in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina and in football he played as a midfielder for Argentina national team and English club Liverpool.
Rogriguez began his career with junior club in Newell Old Boys in Argentina's first division for three seasons before moving to Spain.
In 2002, Rodriguez decided to move to La Liga with RCD Espanyol and make his debut against Real Madrid on September 2, 2002. Together Espanyol he played a total of 37 games in each campaign and scored 15 goals.
After the contract with Espanyol ended, in the 2005-2006 season Rodriguez moved to Atletico Madrid for a transfer value of € 5 million. In this season, Rodriguez has only played in 10 appearances because of injury. But on November 10, 2009, he scored 4 goals last at UD Marbella in the Spanish Cup.
On January 13, 2010, Rodriguez joined Liverpool with a status of free transfer and signed a contract for three and a half years. Initially debut against Stroke City as a substitute. He has played full-time for the first time win over Liverpool at Turf Moor on April 25, 2010. In the 2010-2011 season, Rodriguez scored 10 goals he even managed to score a hat-trick victory over Birmingham. And in 2011, he started in the League Cup match against Exeter City on August 24, 2011.
Rodriguez appearances with the national team began when he joined Argentina won the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship for Under-20 and scored 4 goals. He played full-time with the national team's friendly against Argentina when the Japanese on January 8, 2003 and was elected in the 2005 Confederations Cup squad, he also called for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. On May 19, 2010, his name is included in the Argentine national team squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa and he scored two goals against Canada in the final match before the World Cup tournament began.
