Luís Miguel Brito Garcia Monteiro, better known by the name Miguel is a Portuguese footballer who now plays for the club Valencia CF in Spain as a right defender.
Miguel's football career started with CF Estrela da Amadora as a winger, then he moved to SL Benfica and move to the right defender position. In 2004-2005, Miguel made his debut in 22 appearances and scored two goals. Miguel joined the Valancia FC in August 2005 with a value of € 7.5 million. he defined as the first choice and signed a contract for five years in September 2007 and helped El Che won domestic trophies in the next year by beating Getafe CF. In season 2009-2010, Miguel offered a signing a new contract but he still played in 23 games with Valencia which eventually brought the club's third-ranked league and into the Champions League.
Miguel beneficial joint national team Portugal on February 12, 2003 against Italy in the UEFA EURO 2004 and where the time when Greece defeated Portugal in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. In UEFA EURO, Miguel appears only in group games against Switzerland. In 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa when Miguel playing against North Korea even though he does not regularly play with Valencia in the league.
Miguel decided to step down from international football with Portugal national team on September 9, 2010.
