Salvatore Bocchetti was a footballer who was born on November 30, 1986 in Naples, Italy and he played as a defender with the Russian Premier League club Rubin Kazan.
Bocchetti began his professional career with the club Ascoli and make Serie A debut with the club Palermo on December 20, 2006. However Bocchetti loaned to Serie C1 with the club in Serie B Lanciano and Frosinone with the club on the second season 2006-2007. In the 2008-2009 season Bocchetti signed a contract with the club Genoa and he became a regular starter, he can also play in a back position. Later in the year 2010-2011, Bocchetti contracted by the club Rubin Kazan of Russia with a contract value of € 15 million over three and a half years.
His International career with the Italian national team began when Bocchetti made his debut with the Italian Under-21 team. He played in the Toulon Tournament in 2008 and maintain its place in the starting line-ups for the Summer Olympics.
On March 22, 2009, Bocchetti receive first call on the senior squad for the Italian national team to two FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, but only as a substitute and not played. On October 10, 2009, Bocchetti build an debut with the senior national team when against Ireland as a substitute in the second half at Croke Park. Bocchetti selected by the Italian national team coach included in the squad who played in 23 World Cup FIFA 2010.
