Lukasz Piszczek is a Polish footballer who was born in Czechowice-Dziedzice, Poland on June 3, 1985. He was known to play for the team and for nasioanal Polish German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund as a right-back after the player formerly known as Herta BSC and Zaglebie Lubin.
In 2004, Piszczek was the top scorer at the U-19 European Championship after he was signed by Herta BSC and to subsequently loaned to Zaglebie Lubin, Together with the club he won a league championship during the 2006-2007 season. Piszczek scored 11 goals in the 2006-2007 season and became the club's second leading scorer.
In the fall of 2007, Piszczek scored for the first time on 26 April 2008. He missed most of the part of the 2008-2009 season with a hip injury and had surgery. Piszczek started training again in February 2009, but his career suffered a setback because he already experienced a knee injury. Together Herta, Piszczek initially played as a defensive midfielder or left-wing, but in the second season he played as a right-back.
On May 19, 2010, he decided to join Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer and signed a contract until June 2013. Piszczek month signed a contract extension until June 2016 on July 26, 2011.
Piszczek made his first appearance for the national team of Poland in Estonia on February 3, 2007 and on June 6, 2008 he entered the Poland squad for UEFA Euro 2008 as a substitute. Piszczek played in all three matches in 2012 and for the start of the match against Greece.
