Daniel Miguel Alves Gomes, known by the name of Danny is a Portuguese footballer who was born in Caracas, Venezuela on August 7, 1983 and played as an attacking midfielder in the Portugal national team and clubs which he joined.
He was born in Venezuela moved to the island of Madeira when he was young. Danny develop soccer skills with the junior team at the club CS Maritimo and made the first breakthrough at the end of the 2001-2002 season, scoring five goals in twenty matches.
In the 2002 season, he signed a contract with one club in the Portuguese league with Sporting Clube de Portugal with a value of € 2.1 million during the next season Danny loaned back to Maritimo in July 2004.
After the month of February 2005, he appeared less than 20 times in official matches for the Lions, then he moved to join one of the Russian club Dynamo Moscow named. Danny became one of the best players in the Dynamo in the 2005 season.
On August 24, 2008, Danny purchased by the club FC Zenit St Petersburg at a cost of € 30 million and became the most expensive player in the Russian League.
He make his debut in the 2008 UEFA Cup against Manchester United during which he scored and dubbed 'Man of the Match' in the final. Danny helped the club in the fifth and scored ten goals to become the second best player.
Danny's international career with Portugal national team began on August 20, 2008 when he made his debut in a friendly match against Faroe Islands. Subsequently on 19 November 2008, he scored the first goal for the national team against Brazil. After appearing in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Danny also played regularly for the Portugal U-21. Danny finally picked for the Portugal squad at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
