Anderson Luís de Abreu Oliveira, known by the name Anderson is a Brazilian footballer who was born on April 13, 1988 in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and he played for the Brazilian national team and clubs which he joined.
Anderson began his career with junior club Gremio before he played at senior level. He made his first appearance with the club on October 23, 2004 where he scored a free kick although at the time his club lose. In November 2005, he joined a play-off win the game and led the club Gremio back promotion to Serie A after defeating Nautico.
In the 2005-2006 season, he gained promotion to play in one of Portugal with Porto FC club for two seasons, exactly on June 18, 2005, three months before the 18th birthday officially joined Anderson in the amount of € 7 million in January 2006. During the joint Porto, Anderson won the Portugal League twice and won the Portuguese Supercup Cup in 2005-2006 season. Anderson made his debut with Porto on March 5, 2006 in the Portuguese Championship, and in the next season in the Champions League against CSKA Moscow.
On May 30, 2007, Manchester United's official website announced that Anderson signed a contract with the club yet undisclosed transfer fee and are allowed to play with English club on June 29, 2007. Anderson signed a formal contract on July 2, 2007 for five years with a contract value of € 30 million. Anderson made his debut for Manchester United on August 3, 2007 as against Doncaster Rovers in a friendly match. On 1 September 2007, Anderson made his debut for Manchester United against Sunderland and made appearances in the Champions League against Sporting CP at 19 September 2007 and he also appeared in the League Cup when beaten by Coventry City. Anderson was honored to do a penalty kick in the Premier League Champoions 2008 in Moscow. On December 21, 2008, Anderson played in the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup Final and then on March 1, 2009 he played in the League Cup final as a substitute against Tottenham. Anderson ended the season against Arsenal on May 18, 2009. Anderson scored again for his club on September 12, 2009 against Tottenham.
On August 20, 2010, Anderson returned to play after missing a car crash and his debut against Liverpool on 19 September 2010. He scored in the Champions League semi-final against Schalke and Manchester United's win on aggregate. Anderson signed a new contract with Manchester United on December 15, 2010 for four and a half years and ended only in June 2015. At the end of the 2010-2011 season, Anderson scored two goals against Blackpool on May 22, 2011.
Anderson's appearance with the Brazilian national team began when in April 2005 when he played in the South American U-17 Championship. Later in the month following October he played in the 2005 FIFA U-17 World Championship and won the Golden Ball in second. Anderson first made his debut with the Brazilian national team on June 27, 2007 in Coppa America against Mexico as a substitute. His appearance as a player begins when the win against Chile on July 1, 2007. In July 2008, the Brazilian national team coach chose Anderson in the 18-man squad for the 2008 Olympics and he scored in the group match against New Zealand.
In the tournament, Brazil won the bronze medal against Belgium on August 22, 2008.
