Eduardo Bruno Alves Regufe or known by the name of Bruno Alves is a Portuguese footballer who was born in Póvoa de Varzim, Portugal on November 27, 1981, he was known to play for the national team of Portugal at the center back position.
Alves first played junior football with the club Varzim in the year 1992-1998 in 1998-1999 subsequently moved to Porto. He played with the senior club in the years 1999-2001 with Porto B and scored eight goals in fifty-three performances. Later he played for the club Porto in the 2001-2010 season with a total of 119 appearances and scored fourteen goals. Over joins with Porto, Beto borrowed to several clubs including Farense in 2002-2003 along with playing in forty-six appearances and scored three goals. Then in 2003-2004 on loan to Vitória Guimarães and only scored a single goal in twenty-five appearances. After the end of their term loan with Vitória Guimarães, Beto play with one club in Greece with AEK Athens in 2005. However, with AEK Athens, he does not score goals in twenty seven appearances.
Beto decided to move to Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2010. International career with Portugal's national team began when Beto was recorded for Portugal U-21 in 2001-2002 and scored two goals in twenty appearances. He entered the Portuguese national team B in 2004 and only appeared once. Then in 2007, Beto was recorded together with the national team playing against Portugal and Kuwait. He returned to strengthen Portugal in the UEFA EURO 2008 but was defeated by the Swiss. Beto be starting in the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Albania on June 6, 2009.
