Ricardo Alberto Silveira de Carvalho is the full name of the footballer Ricardo Carvalho, who was born on May 18, 1978 in Amarante Portugal. He played in Spain as the center-back to La Liga club Real Madrid and Portugal national team.
Carvalho was born in Amarante began his career football for local teams Amarante Futebol Clube. With outstanding performance, he finally brought play to FC Porto junior in 1996, between 1997 and 2001 Carvalho loaned to the club Leca where he made his professional debut. In 2002-2003, Carvalho made his name known in Europe for having won the domestic first league title under coach Mourinho's reign, among others, won the Portuguese Cup, UEFA Cup and make him get an international call line-up in 2003. In August 2010, after six years playing with Chelsea, Carvalho moved to Real Madrid with a value of £ 6,700,000. In his career internationally with the national team of Portugal, Carvalho started in a friendly against Albania on October 11, 2003. He also represented Portugal at UEFA EURO 2004, FIFA World Cup 2006, UEFA EURO 2008 and FIFA World Cup 2010. Carvalho played in the UEFA EURO 2004 as against Greece and had become a mainstay of the Portuguese national team when the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He helped Portugal reach the semi-finals before being beaten by France. In UEFA EURO 2008, Carvalho played in three of four games and defeated by Germany in the quarterfinals. Two years later at the 2010 FIFA World Cup, he was elected strengthening the national team of Portugal, Carvalho just casual play and only scored one goal in four games
