Federico Marchetti is a footballer who was born on February 7, 1983 in Bassano del Grappa, Italy, and he plays in Serie A also strengthens the position of the Italian national team goalkeeper.
Marchetti first played in Torino youth system and made his professional debut when he was loaned to Pro Vercelli. But then Marchetti on loan to several clubs including Crotone Serie C1 and C2 together with Treviso. He became the third choice goalkeeper at Trino the 2004-2005 season and make a single appearance as a substitute against Granata as a goalkeeper. In January 2005, Marchetti signed a contract with Torino and then he was loaned to Pro Vercelli.
In mid-season 2005, Torino who initially promoted to Serie A went bankrupt and a new team from Serie B as a replacement. All the old Torino players allowed to leave the club for free, including Marchetti signed by AlbinoLeffe in 2005-2009, but he is lent to the Biellese in 2005 in co-ownership agreement. In June 2006, Marchetti bought back by the club AlbinoLeffe. In his first season with Celeste, he made 13 appearances.
And in the 2007-2008 season he won the best goalkeeper award Serie B.
In July 2008, Cagliari agreed bid for goalkeeper Marchetti loan with an option to buy 50% of the player with the club AlbinoLeffe and eventually become full rights on February 1, 2010. But he is not played by the club in the 2010-2011 season and became the third goalie Cagliari including when the win against Genoa on April 3, 2011.
His international career with the Italian national team began in May 2009 for a friendly against Northern Ireland after an impressive appearance with the club Cagliari. Surprisingly, he made his debut at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa against Paraguay when replacing the injured Gianluigi Buffon in the part-time group F. In Marchetti's next two matches, he allowed goals in four out of five shots on goal.
