Xabier 'Xabi' Alonso Olano, or known by the name of Xabi Alonso is a Spanish footballer who played in the position of defensive midfielder or deep-lyng playmaker who was born in Tolosa, Basque Country, Spain on November 25, 1981. Alonso was born from the family of a footballer. His father named Periko has won the Spanish league two times in a row with Real Sociedad and a time when moving to FC Barcelona. Alonso comes from Tolosa and stayed there for six years later he moved to San Sebastian. Alonso became interested soccer in San Sebastian and he often played in Playa de la concha (Shell Beach). Alonso with Mikel Arteta his brother often brought her father to the CE Sabadell FC training ground. Alonso has been playing football since the beginning of play in defensive midfield and he was consistent in his position until he was playing in clubs and at international level. When he was 15 years old, Alonso went into the town of Kells in Ireland to learn English and play soccer with local kids. Alonso and Arteta finally parted after Alonso joined Real Sociedad and Arteta to join the Catalan club Barcelona. Alonso joined the Sociedad when he was aged 18 years and he made his debut against Logroñés first CD in December 1999 in a Copa del Rey match.
In the 2000-2001 season, Alonso's move to SD Éibar Segunda Division to gain experience and improve their game. After the loan period ends, Alonso returned to Sociedad when the club was in the lowest position in the League. But it was Alonso's turn to help Sociedad out of drop zone and was ranked 14th when he was chosen manager of Wells became club captain when he was still 19 years old.
In mid-season 2002-2003, Sociedad occupy positions 13 and Alonso consistent in La Liga in 30 appearances, scoring five goals.
In the 2002-2003 season, Sociedad are in second position after the first time in Madrid and Champions League qualification. Alonso in the season was awarded as the best player by a Spanish magazine Don Balloons. Alonso also contributed to the team and scored 12 goals in all competitions.

In the 2005-2006 season, precisely on January 7, 2006, Alonso helped Liverpool win the FA Cup and he scored two goals one through-range shot was a record 61 yards and kick the farthest. On June 14, 2006 was the first debut with Alonso at the Spanish national team to score against Ukraine at the World Cup in 2006 but Spain finally defeated the French.
On June 8, 2007, Alonso signed a contract extension with Liverpool. Alonso started the season as scoring two goals as Liverpool's victory against Derby County.
In the 2008 season, Alonso Liverpool have won one title and in its international career Alonso scored two goals in a friendly match against the Danes in the month of August. In this season, Alonso Spanish national team won the Euro Cup 2008 final when Spain beat Germany and won 1-0 thanks to goals scored by Torres.
In the 2009-2010 season, precisely in the months of July 2009, Alonso submit a transfer request with Real Madrid which was completed on August 5, 2009. In Madrid he continued to play in the midfield position. Alonso did not want to move from Liverpool and will stay until the end of the season in 2012 but due to differences with manager Rafael Benitez at the beginning of the 2008-2009 season, he thought otherwise.
Alonso scored the first goal with Real Madrid when the win against Villarreal at the date of February 21, 2010. Madrid Alonso helping with collecting 96 points in La Liga, three points below Barca. Alonso already has achieved three times with different clubs, including the years 2002 to 2003 with Sociedad and the 2008-2009 season with Liverpool. Alonso is a midfielder who always played with the core team is paired with Ronaldo, he is the candidate receiving the award in LFP Awards in the category 'best midfielder' together with Xavi and Martinez.
Alonso completed the 2009-2010 season, scoring three goals with Madrid.
In the 2010 season, Alonso was elected along with a core team of Spain in the World Cup in 2010. Spain managed to pass the time allowance for the group win against Honduras and Chile even in the early provision was defeated by the Swiss. In the round of 16 major victories against Portugal and Spain followed the victory of Paraguay in the quarter-finals. Spain cruised into the final after beating Germany in the semi-final. Alonso helped the Spanish national team won the 2010 World Cup after defeating the Netherlands in the final. Currently in the final against the Netherlands, Alonso received a kick in the chest with a style of karate from the Dutch player Nigel de Jong in the 28th minute extra time. Alonso still continue the game during the first hour or so before finally replaced by Fabregas.
