William Ryan Nelsen is a professional footballer who played New Zealand in the position of a defender and was born on October 18, 1977 in Christchurch, New Zealand. After attendance at Our Lady of the Assumption Primary School and St. Thomas of Canterbury College, he moved to the United States and joined the Greensboro College in North Carolina in 1997. Started his senior career when he joined DC United in the years 2001-2005. After the joint DC United, Nelsen signed a contract with Blackburn Rovers in January 2005, but because of his appearance then Nelsen permanently contracted for three years. His career with the New Zealand national team against Poland on June 19, 1999. Though she had chosen to join the national team but in the years 2004 and 2008 he did not play due to injury.
