Fernando Torres is a Spanish footballer who plays in the striker position. Torres started his career in football along with Atletico Madrid at the youth level. Torres made his debut with the team's first in 2001 and ended the game with the club Atletico Madrid, scoring 75 goals in 174 appearances in La Liga.
Before the joint Altletico Madrid, he played for two seasons in the Segunda Division, scoring seven goals in 40 appearances.
Torres joined Liverpool in 2007, after signing the contract that the club transfer record. Torres marked his first debut at Anfield with a Liverpool player after Robbie Fowler in the year 1995-1996 who scored more than 20 league goals in one season. Torres became the fastest player in the history of Liverpool who scored 50 league goals against Aston Villa after the month in December 2009. Torres was elected strengthening of Spain in international matches and made his debut against Portugal when his first in 2003. Torres has participated in four major tournaments including the UEFA EURO 2004, FIFA World Cup 2006, UEFA EURO 2008 and FIFA 2006 World Cup. Torres was also named in the squad for the Spanish national team at 2010 FIFA World Cup held in South Africa, but he had not scored at all. Torres played in the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament that managed to bring Spain into world champions for the first time while in the final to defeat the Dutch national team.
