Julio Cesar Soares EspĂ­ndola or known name with Julio Cesar is a Brazilian footballer who was born in Duque de Caxias, Brazil on September 3, 1979 and he played as goalkeeper for the Brazilian national team and clubs which he joined.
Beginning his career playing with the ball when Grajau CC but he began his professional career with Clube de Regatas do Flamengo in 1997. Later he played at senior level with Flamengo in the year 1998-2004. For approximately six years to join Flamengo he made his debut in 130 appearances.
Then in January 2005, Julio Cesar had played for Chievo Verona for six months before he was eventually joined by Inter Milan in the same year.
After six months playing for Chievo Verona, Julio Cesar then joined Internazionale Milan in July 2005 within three years.
In the 2005-2006 season, the first appearance when Inter won the Supercoppa Italiana
In July 2009, Julio Cesar was chosen as the Brazilian players by ESPN as the best player of the 2008-2009 season and received the Premio Futebol no Mundo (Football in the World Award).
Then in November 2009, he signed a contract until 2014. Julio Cesar is currently a first choice goalkeeper for Brazil's national team after winning 53 international matches. In 2009, IFFHS give a name to him as the third best Goalkeeper in the world after Iker Casillas of Spain and Gianluigi Buffon of Italy. Julio Cesar was also awarded as the Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009 and was nominated for the 2009 Ballon d'Or and was voted into 21st place.
