António Alberto Bastos Pimparel or better known as Beto is a Portuguese footballer who was born on May 1, 1982 in Lisbon and plays as a goalkeeper. Beto joined Portugal's first division along with FC Porto.
After Beto successfully expanded with Sporting de Portugal and he only played one season with the team and become a third option. Beto then loaned to AC Casa Pia in July 2004. After one season, joining FC GD Chaves and Marco (at level two), and Beto joined Leixões Sport Club in the season 2006-2007 and also help Matosinhos he missed only six games in three seasons combined. Then in March 2009, exactly before the 2008-2009 season ended, Beto agreed to move to FC Porto in a four-year contract with trransfer value € 750,000, effective in June.
Beto made his debut with the national team of Portugal on June 10, 2009 in a friendly match against Estonia. After finishing the 2009-2010 season with Porto, he was appointed by the Portuguese national team manager in the list of 24 players while for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa but he always was on the bench.
