Giorgio Chiellini is an Italian footballer who was born in Pisa, Italy on August 14, 1984. Chiellini played at center back position in Serie A with Juventus.
Chiellini started his career for 6 years with Livorno in central midfield. As an adult, he was as a winger and finally found a position as left back. In his first season with the team he make 3 Appearance. In the summer of 2002, signed by Juventus, Chiellini as joint ownership with a value of € 3.1M, but he was loaned back to Livorno in Serie B. The 2002-2003 season In the first season of Serie B, he made six appearances and also his debut in the Coppa Italia. In June 2004, officially re Livorno buy Chiellini with a value of € 3M.
Chiellini was signed by Juventus in the summer of 2004 with a value of € 6,500,000 but sold under co-ownership status to Fiorentina with a value of € 3.5 million which the 2004-2005 season he played for Serie A.
After an excellent first season in Serie A, Chiellini was called back by Juventus in the 2005-2006 season as full ownership with a value of € 4.3 million. He also helped Juventus to reach the 29th Scudetto. After Juventus relegated as the case Calciopoli, Chiellini decided to keep playing at Juventus.
After Juventus returned to Serie A, Chiellini a starter and he referred to as one of the best center-back in the world. Chiellini extend the original contract with Juventus of up to 2009-2011 on 12 October 2006. On April 27, 2008, Chiellini scored 2 goals as Juventus wins against Lazio and the club put in the position of four Serie A League. Furthermore, on June 26, 2008, Chiellini extend the contract again with Juventus until 2013. During the 2008-2009 season, Chiellini be the first choice in the club and helping Juventus to the Serie A runners-up He scored his first goal on 13 August 2008 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League third round qualifier against Artmedia Petrzalka when Juventus. At the end of the year, he was named Serie A Defender of the Year for 2008 at the annual awards ceremony Oscar del Calcio. On March 10, 2009, Chiellini was sent out because of violations committed in the first leg second round of the Champions League when Juventus against Chaelsea. On 23 November 2010, Chiellini back to extend his contract with Juventus until June 30, 2015.
Chiellini make his debut with the Italian national team in November 2004 when Italy against Ireland and since then he has become a regular squad member. He helped Italy win the U-19 European Championship in 2003 and he became part of Italy's squad who took part won a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics football tournament. Chiellini bring Italian name in the 'UEFA Team of the tournament' U-21 Championship in 2007 which was held in the Netherlands where he finally qualified for the 2008 Olympics.
Chiellini was called into the Italian national team squad for UEFA EURO 2008 but he missed the opening game when it was defeated by the Dutch. Chiellini playing in the second game onwards against Romania and France in the group stages. Chiellini looked impressive when Italy in the quarterfinals against Spain and he was able to withstand attacks from David Villa and Fernando Torres.
Chiellini coach Lippi's first choice in the Italian national team squad during the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification, although the Italian must be eliminated in the group stage by goal difference at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009.
