Gianluigi 'Gigi' Buffon Masocco is the full name of Gianluigi Buffon. He was born in Carrara, Italy on January 28, 1978 is an Italian footballer who plays in the goalkeeper position. Buffon plays for Juventus and the Italian national team. He had come to win the FIFA World Cup 2006 and by the Italian football fans he was known as one of the most successful goalkeeper in the history of Italy. Even Buffon declared by Pele as one of 125 greatest footballers in the world and has been crowned as the Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year to 8 times.
Buffon started his career at age 13 years in 1991. He first played for the Junior club Parma. Buffon graduated from junior club Parma in 1995 and began his career professionally when he was 17 years old when Parma against AC Milan. Buffon also helped Parma win the UEFA Cup and he played a total of 200 appearances in all competitions.
In the summer of 2001, Buffon decided to move to Juventus with a transfer value of £ 32.6 million. Buffon helped Juventus reached the Champions League final but in the final defeat by AC Milan. Even Juventus never go down to Serie B due to Calciopoli scandal and a lot of players who moved from Juventus. However, on June 27, 2007 FIGC liberate all the players from the case.
