Daniele De Rossi is Italian footballer who was born on July 24, 1983 in Rome, Italy, and he plays as a central midfielder who is also a soccer player with FIFA World Cup Italian national team and also as vice-captain. He now plays for Serie A club Roma in the Italian League.
De Rossi joined the Roma junior from Ostiamare at which time he played as a striker in 2000. Starting debut on January 25, 2003 against Cosmo. In Serie A he played the first time against Torino at Rome on May 10, 2003. De Rossi scored the first goal from a distance of 40 meters during the match against Messina in the season 2006-2007.
De Rossi also scored a single goal for Roma against Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in the season 2006-2007. De Rossi played many matches for the Italian national team and an Under-21 squad which won the UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship in 2004 and the Olympics in the same year. De Rossi scored the first goal on his debut at the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Norway when Italy at age 21 years.
De Rossi was appointed to the Italian national team squad at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, the tournament when he got a red card for Italy against the United States and he was banned from playing for 4 games and fined CHF 10,000. Once banned from playing in 4 games, he started playing again when Italy against France in place of Totti. De Rossi scored the third goal to help to help Italy win FIFA World Cup a fourth time.
De Rossi also played for Italy at UEFA EURO 2008 qualifiers against Georgia and he had the honor of wearing number 10 after Totti decided to quit the national team. He captained the team in two friendly matches against South Africa on October 17, 2007 and Portugal on February 6, 2008 and the UEFA EURO 2008 qualifier against the Faroe Islands. On June 17, 2008, De Rossi scored against France and help advance to the quarter-final against Spain.
In the Confederations Cup on June 15, 2009, De Rossi scored a goal for Italy against the United States. He became the Italian player who gets the role of the national team captain in place of Cannavaro. De Rossi becomes the player who scored for Italy in the 2008-2009 World Cup qualifying campaign and he's become a pretty good defensive midfielder for the Azzurri.
In 2010 FIFA World Cup, De Rossi scored his first goal when Italy against Paraguay.
