Alberto Gilardino is an Italian football player who was born on July 5, 1982 in Bella, Italy, and he plays as a striker.
Gilardino started his career with the club Piacenza and started playing in Serie A in season 1999-2000. He made 17 appearances and scored 3 goals. Gilardino then sold to Verona with a value of 7.5 billion Italian lira and play full time in June 2001.
Glardino scored five goals in his first season with Parma and 23 times in the second season. In season 2003-2004, he became the second scorer of Serie A's most productive. His success at club level and the Italian Under-21 team to make him get a contract extension until June 2007. Gilardino repeated the feat in 2004-2005 and scored 23 goals, once again he became the second most prolific goalscorer in Serie A. He scored 50 goals in 96 appearances for Parma in Serie A.
Gilardino transferred to Milan with a value estimated at about € 24 million on July 17, 2005. Although he scored 17 goals while playing in Milan, but he failed to play offensively in the Champions League in season 2005-2006. Gilardino scored one of two goals in the win in the Champions League against Manchester United on May 3, 2007. At Milan in the Champions League final against Liverpool, he only played as a substitute for two minutes.
Gilardino helped Milan become leaders in Serie A in season 2006-2007 and for the first score in the Champions League when the season against Shakhtar Donetsk on October 24th.
On 25 May 2008, Fiorentina's sporting director asserted that the agreement between Gilardino and Milan was completed and he signed a contract for five years with a transfer value of € 15 million with Fiorentina. His first goal with Fiorentina in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying game against Slavia Prague 2008-2009. And then he scored a goal in Serie A when Fiorentina against Juventus. Giardino scored two goals in the Champions League group stage against Fiorentina at the club from Olympique Lyonnais France. Gilardino completed the 2008-2009 season with 19 goals in Serie A and has a campaign in the Champions League next season. He scored for Fiorentina in the Champions League against Sporting Lisbon when, subsequently Debrecen and goals in extra time against Liverpool. Gilardino scored his 200th goal in Serie A as against Bari on February 27, 2011.

On October 10, 2009, he scored against Ireland which is the goal for Italy to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Gilardino scored a hat-trick in the last 13 minutes in a game against Cyprus on October 14, 2009.
