Steven George Gerrard MBE, better known by the name of Steven Gerrard is England footballer who plays as a Captain in the Liverpool club which is one of the big clubs in the Premiership. Gerrard was born on May 30, 1980 in Merseyside, England.
Gerrard played in the position of center midfielder, but since Torres joined Liverpool, Gerrard played in the position of a second striker at the club in Liverpool and England winger he plays in the position since 2006. Gerrard is known as long-distance shots and also scored a few goals in the final championships including the UEFA Championship League Final 2005 and the FA Cup Final 2006. Gerrard has spent the entire football career at Anfield with Liverpool. He made his first debut in the 2000-2001 season and became captain of Liverpool's club team in 2003 to replace Sami Hypia.
Gerrard has helped Liverpool win the FA Cup 2 times, 2 times won the League Cup, winning the UEFA Cup and won the UEFA Champions League in 2005. In 2005, Gerrard was third in voting for the Ballon d'Or for best European player category.
Gerrard started his international debut in 2000 and represented England in the UEFA European Championship in 2000 and 2004 and the FIFA World Cup 2006 and 2010. In 2006 FIFA World Cup, Gerrard scored 2 goals for England and was recorded as the vice captain of the England national team.
In 2010 FIFA World Cup, Gerrard became the English national team captain to replace the injured Rio Ferdinand. Gerrard came in second place in the 100 Players Who Shook The Kop is a Liverpool FC fan poll.
