Nigel de Jong is a Dutch footballer who plays in the position of defensive midfielder and was born on November 30, 1984 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Now Nigel de Jong play for the club Manchester City from 2009 and he was recorded as the Dutch national player.
Nigel de Jong started playing football when he joined the Ajax youth academy and he's known since playing at the age of 17 years.
Two years later, Nigel de Jong made his international debut and started playing internationally by winning the runner-up to the Dutch in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
Nigel de Jong moved from Ajax in 2006 and then joined Hamburg in 2006-2009. After the contract with Hamburg ends, Nigel de Jong and then moved to Manchester City in January 2009 which is estimated to cost about 18 million pounds. Nigel de Jong became a very important player for club Manchester City and he is known by the nickname 'lawnmower' and 'terrier'.
On March 3, 2010, Nigel de Jong get yellow cards in the match against the Americans for causing injury to Stuart Holden's broken leg.
In 2010 FIFA World Cup, Nigel de Jong also doing karate kick in the chest Spaniard Xabi Alonso. Luckily he was not subjected to a red card by referee.
