Steven James 'Steve' Sidwell is a British professional footballer who was born in Wandsworth in London, England on December 14, 1982. Starting in 2008, he played at Aston Villa in the position of central midfielder. Sidwell is a young player who never won the FA Youth Cup in 2000 and 2001 while playing at Arsenal. When joining Arsenal, he was loaned to Brentford in the year 2001-2002, Bereven in 2002 and in Brighton & Hove Albion in the years 2002-2003. Sidwell moved to Reading for four and a half years in January 2003. Sidwell joined Chelsea with a free transfer from Reading in the year 2007-2008 and wore number nine back. On July 10, 2008, Sidwell signed a three-year contract with Aston Villa.
