Nathan Marcus Bent is a British footballer who played in the striker position. He was born on May 19, 1978 in Hammersmith London, England. During his career in football, Bent has played in more than 10 clubs and he never played more than two seasons. In the years 1995-1998, Bent is a young player in Brentfort. His senior debut when he played in Bury on 17 August 1996 and scored his first goal on September 10, 1996. Then in January 1998, he moved to Crystal Palace for £300,000. He scored 5 goals for the South Norwood side. Almost exactly a year later, in 1999, he went on to become a Port Vale player for £375,000, but stayed only nine months, scoring once against Grimsby Town. Bent was then released by Port Vale and joined Sheffield United making 56 appearances for the Blades. Sheffield United sold Bent to Blackburn Rovers for £2,050,000 to in November 2000. In November 2001 he was sold to Ipswich for £3 million. Bent was named Premier League Player of the Month for January 2002. Despite this he did not establish himself in the Suffolk side and went on loan to Premier League side Leicester City for the 2003–04 season during which they were relegated to the Championship. In January 2006, it was announced that Bent had signed for Charlton Athletic in a deal worth £2.3 million, and Bent joined Wigan on 31 August 2007 on "deadline day" on a season long loan move.
