Gary James Cahill is a British footballer who was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England on December 19, 1985 and played in the position of defender. Cahill began his soccer career when he was 15 years in the AFC Dronfield, a team with Derbyshire. While at training Derby County Academy, Cahill was also signed for Aston Villa Academy. In November 2004, Cahill is a player on loan Burnley club and get the award from Burnley's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year. Then he moved to Sheffield United for three months on September 19, 2007. Speculation about the future of Cahill in the transfer window in January 2008 when he sought by several clubs including Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers and Besiktas, a club from Turkey. On January 30, 2008 finally Cahill joined Bolton Wanderers for three years. On February 2, 2008 beginning at Cahill Bolton debut against Barca, since then he became a favorite and was awarded 'Best Newcomer' at the end of the season.
