David Edward Edgar is a Canadian footballer who was born on May 19, 1987 in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, and he played at left back position. Edgar was born of a father who comes from a former Jarrow Newcastle goalkeeper and a mother's native Canada. When Edgar was nine years old, his father took him to England to see the football tournament, sponsored by Manchester United. Edgar interested after a check on the tournament and he was offered a scholarship by Manchester United, but the treaty was rejected because he wanted to be in Canada for a while. Edgar officially began his career when he played at reserve team in Newcastle on April 10, 2003 against Bradford. One of the Spanish club Malaga interested with Edgar when Newcastle play in the Spanish La Liga club in pre-season friendly match. Edgar continued to play at Newcastle as a player and reserve team squads were not included since a long injury. On January 1, 2007, Edgar scored his first goal against Manchester United. Edgar then moved to Burnley with the club during the four-year contract on July 1, 2009. On December 24, 2009, Burnley and Newcastle approved the contract for a cost of £ 300,000 Edgar. During their stay in Burnley, Edgar appears only once in the match and eventually he was loaned to the club Swansea City.
