Timothy Michael Krul is a Dutch footballer who was born on April 3, 1988 in The Hague, Netherlands. He was known as a club Newcastle United goalkeeper and the Dutch national team. Krul In hometown known as "Bakkers Handen" or "Baker's hand".
Krul began his career in his hometown football with RAS and continuing to a local club with the Eredivisie club ADO Den Haag. In 2005, he decided to join one of England called Newcastle club and signed a contract for 3 years but failed in a professional contract. Then the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in February 2007 decided that Newcastle have to pay an amount of € 220,000 as compensation for the transfer to the ADO.
Krul played in the European Championships for Holland U-17 in Italy in May 2005 and made him able to strengthen the Dutch U-21 squad and won the European Championships and qualified for the Olympics in 2008. His debut with Newcastle when pre-season defeat against PSV Eindhoven on July 29, 2006. On November 2, 2006, he made his debut against Palermo in the UEFA Cup match. But several times a backup goalie due to injury. Krul signed up for 4-year contract with Newcastle on June 13, 2007.
On August 3, 2007, he joined one of the Scottish team Falkirk goalkeeper loan. He expelled the first time in his professional career when reacted strongly against opponents on January 2, 2008 that resulted in loss of the rest of the season with the club.
Krul then joined Carlisle United as a goalkeeper loan on November 21, 2008 and ended in January 2009.
He returned to Newcastle as a backup goalie and first made his debut in the senior leagues on August 8, 2009 in Football Legue Championship against West Bromwich. He played in the FA Cup third round against Plymouth Argyle. Krul's first league start for Newcastle at the Championship campaign against Queens Park at Lotus Road on May 2, 2010 and subsequently signed a new contract extension for four years. He began the 2010-2011 season well and keep clean sheets in the first two matches against Arsenal and Sunderland. Appearance makes it a favorite against Chelsea on May 2, 2012 and decided to sign a new contract extension with Newcastle again on March 3, 2012 for 5 years.
Krul debut with the Dutch national team when he first entered the U-17 squad for the U-17 World Cup in Peru. Later he represented the Netherlands at the U-21 Toulon Tournament in 2008 and 2011 European Championship qualifiers. Krul made his first appearance with the senior national team in a friendly against Brazil, he entered the Dutch national team squad for the UEFA Euro 2012 in Poland-Ukraine.
