Sammy Ameobi professional football player
Samuel "Sammy" Ameobi is an English footballer of Nigerian descent was born on May 1, 1992 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and now he plays for Premier League club Newcastle United as a striker or left winger. Ameobi has an older brother also played football from him and called the same Shola and Tomi played for Newcastle, who plays for the BI / Bolunggarvik. Ameobi studying at Heaton Manor School and Grindon Hall Christian School and completed his school with 11 GCSEs before joining Newcastle academy through scholarships.
Ameobi to join Newcastle United Academy in July of 2008 and finish up with his team debut on 29 September 2008 against Blackburn Rovers. He made his debut for the first time on May 15, 2011 as a substitute in the second half against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Ameobi became the first pair to play for Newcastle in the league since 1952. He scored the first goal with the senior club on July 15, 2011 in the pre-season friendly against Darlington. And scored the first competitive goal at the date of August 25, 2011 win against Scunthorpe in the second round in the Football League Cup. On November 17, 2011, Ameobi signed a new contract extension for three and a half years with Newcastle and remain at the club until 2015. On November 19, 2011, for the first time after a contract extension, Ameobi started Premier League match against Manchester City.
Ameobi make an international career and decided to play for the national team of Nigeria. He joined the U-20 squad during training in Turkey ahead of the 2011 African Youth Championship and played in two friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Egypt. But in November 2011, Ameobi called up to England U-21 squad for the match against Iceland and Belgium. He made his debut against Iceland on November 10, 2011 at the Euro 2013 Under-21 Qualifying group. Then on November 14, 2011, Ameobi made the first start against Belgium U-21.
