Rio Ferdinand known as a centre back football of England
Rio Gavin Ferdinand, or better known as Rio Ferdinand is an English footballer who was born on November 7, 1978 in Peckham, London, England and he played in the back position for the England national team and club Manchester United.
Ferdinand was the son of Janice and Julian Lavender Ferdinand who grew up in Peckham. Ferdinand's parents were never married and they separated when Ferdinand 14 years of age. He had a pretty good education but learned to live without the luxury of Peckham is known as the poorer areas.
Ferdinand from an early age has had the ability to play football, and career began when he played in the youth team at the Eltham Town as an attacking midfielder. During the junior team he played for several clubs such as Charlton Athletic, Chelsea, Millwall and Queens Park Rangers. Ferdinand joined West Ham youth team in 1992 and signed a Youth Training Scheme in the first month of January 1994.

Ferdinand has played ten games for the England national team in FIFA World Cup and has scored three goals for England such as the 2002 FIFA World Cup against Denmark, in the EURO 2008 qualifier against Russia on October 11, 2008 and 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers when win against Kazakhstan.
Ferdinand has 78 caps for England in June 2010, even without playing at the European Championships in 1998 for failing doping test and the defeat of England in EURO 2008. He was selected to captain the national team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa but because of a knee ligament injury when the team's first training session in South Africa so he withdrew from the tournament. On March 19, 2011 ahead of the EURO 2012 qualifier against Wales, the team manager announced that Ferdinand became vice-captain.
