Angelo Palombo is an Italian footballer who was born in Forentino, province of Frosinone, Italy on December 25, 1981 and is now playing in Serie A Sampdoria at the midfielder position.
Palombo began his career in club football junior Fano, then he sold to Fiorentina, who made his debut in Serie A on February 10, 2002 when against Venezia. He moved to Sampdoria in Serie B with a status of a free transfer in the summer of 2002 when Fiorentina declared bankrupt and forced the players to be sold.
During the 2005-2006 season, scored the first goal Palombo Serie A for Sampdoria on January 18, 2006 as against Fiorentina which is the club where he used to play at junior level and make European debut in the UEFA Cup in September. Palombo be a first choice player in midfield. In May 2009, he signed a contract extension with Sampdoria for four years.
Palombo began playing with the Italian national team for U-21 and won the 2004 European Under-21 Football Championship and won a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics football tournament. Palombo make his debut with the senior Italian national team when losing against Croatia on August 16, 2006 as a substitute.
After the 2009-2010 season playing at club level, the Italian national team coach Marcello Lippi named his name in the squad include 23-man in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
