Samuel Edward "Sam" Hutchinson is a British footballer who was born in Slough, England on August 3, 1989 and played in the position of defender. Hutchinson joined Chelsea's youth academy when he was still 9 years old and he is the third graduate in the academy and reserve team captain. He played professionally in August 2006 and a year later signed a four-year contract extension. Hutchinson injured for most of the 2005-2007 season and new look longer to Chelsea on May 13, 2007 at the Premire League against Everton. On August 20, 2007, Hutchinson renew a new contract with Chelsea for four years until 2011. Club debut against the U.S. on July 20, 2009. Hutchinson is more often installed as a substitute when at Chelsea. His first appearance with the English national team in March 2007 for the U18. On November 14, 2007, Hutchinson was appointed as captain of the team ahead of the friendly match against Germany for the U19. Hutchinson failed in the qualifying tournament for the 2008 European U19 Championship because of injury and Hutchinson called again for the U21 when the qualifier against Macedonia on October 9, 2009 but did not play.
