England goalkeeper Ross Turnbull was born in Bishop Auckland, England on January 4, 1985. Ross began his football team as a linebacker at Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre AFC. Ross has been trying to play with Darlington and Sunderland but instead joined Middlesbrough's Academy. Turnbull started signing a professional contract with Middlesbrough in 2002 and represented England at U20 level in 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. In July 2007, Turnbull signed a contract as a loan player with Cardiff and he is believed to be the main goalkeeper club. But due to some errors in the opening game against Nort End of Preston, and reserve goalkeeper Turnbull pledged to spend the loan period before returning to Middlesbrough on October 2007. After the main goalkeeper Middlesbrough decided to move, Turnbull tries to be the main goalkeeper. But in June 2009, Turnbull refused renewal of contract with Middlesbrough and intend to move when the contract expired. On July 2, 2009, Turnbull signed a contract for four years with Chelsea on a free transfer. Turnbull wants as the main goalkeeper at the club and started when the Champions League against Opel and the Premire League debut when against West Ham.
