Joseph Martin 'Joey' O'Brien was an Irish footballer who played in the position of midfielder or defender and was born on February 17, 1986 in Dublin, Republic of Ireland and he played with Bolton Wanderers. To add to the experience, O'Brien is on loan to League One Sheffield Wednesday in the 2004-2005 season. O'Brien played in 15 games and scored two goals and he was appointed captain of the team during the last games. After returning to Bolton in May 2005, O'Brien appeared in Premire League against Everton. In September, O'Brien believed by the club playing in the UEFA Cup first round against Lokomotiv Plovdiv. In July 2008, O'Brien was given the trust number 8 shirt previously worn by Ivan Campo, but due to injuries he had only appeared in a few games in 2008-2009 season. On October 29, 2009, O'Brien signed a one-year contract extension with Bolton until the summer of 2011.
