Edwin van der Sar is a Dutch footballer who was born in Voorhout, Netherlands on October 29, 1970. Van der Sar playing in the position of goalkeeper.
Van der Sar is known as a Dutch player who closed, but he became a respected goalkeeper.
Van der Sar began his career with Foreholte junior, then he played at senior level with Ajax club for 9 years. After joining the club Ajax, Van der Sar moved to Juventus in 1999-2001. After playing several seasons with Juventus, Van der Sar anchored to England and joined the club Fulham in the year 2001-2005. After the contract with the club Fulham over, then in 2005, Van der Sar joined the English giants, Manchester United.
Van der Sar is one goalie who has won the Champions League with two different clubs, among others, with Ajax in 1995 and with Manchester United in 2008. In addition, he also appeared in the UEFA match with Manchester United and the Uefa Cup with Ajax in 1992. Van der Sar has been named as Europe's Best Goalkeeper in 1995 and 2009. In December 2009, Annemarie van Kesteren suffered a brain hemorrhage and was rushed to the hospital for recovery until it is completely healed.
