Edwin Van Der Sar as a goalkeeper of Netherlands
Edwin van der Sar is a Dutch footballer who was born in Voorhout, Netherlands on October 29, 1970 and he plays in the goalkeeper position.
Van der Sar began his career at his hometown club and then Noordwijk v. Foreholte.
Beginning with the junior club dee Van Sar signed a contract with the club Ajax under the leadership of van Gaal. With Ajax he won the UEFA Cup 1991-1992 and 1994-1995 UEFA Championship League, and the award as Europe's Best Goalkeeper 1995. Van der Sar continues to help Ajax in the UEFA Champions League Final 2006, but Ajax is just being in the position of runner-up after losing to Juventus in a penalty shoot. Van der Sar to make 226 appearances for Ajax in the 1997-1998 season, including when Ajax win against De Graafschap.

Before the year 2006 in the World Cup group match against Ivory Coast, Van der Sar was not conceded a goal in 9 games competitive. As the Dutch captain, he broke the record in 2006 FIFA World Cup match against Portugal.
On the birthday of the 37th, Van der sar stated that he would retire from international football after Euro 2008. Before ending his international career, Van der Sar helped the Dutch win against Italy on June 9, 2008 and on June 13, 2008 against France. On June 21, 2008 he played for the Dutch when it lost to Russia in the quarterfinals. Van der Sar played in 16 appearances in European Championship finals and after Euro 2008, Van der Sar played some minutes in the European Football Championship.
